I am an international school leader and teacher who is passionate about empowering students’ lives through education. I spent most of my career in schools in the UK and in the British education system. Having worked in very multicultural and multilingual schools throughout my career, I have built my expertise in working with teachers, students and parents from a multitude of nationalities, ethnic and social backgrounds. Such experiences have helped me to enrich my leadership and teaching capacity and to develop an international minded approach to education. I am also a passionate advocate for the purposeful use of technology linked to pedagogy. Find out more about my vision for leadership and education here.
I am currently the Headmaster / Principal of Pueri Domus Bilingual School (Verbo Divino Campus), an all-through bilingual school offering international education and dual certification to students from pre-school to IB diploma. Previously, I worked as Head of Campus at the British College of Brazil and as an assistant headteacher at Grinling Gibbons Primary School (London, UK) where I worked alongside the senior leadership team in the strategic lead of whole school standards. This included areas such as teachers’ performance management (mentoring and coaching), data analysis to drive standards in the quality of teaching, developing and implementing school improvement plan as well as supporting the Head of the school with the day to day management of the school. As the Computing and Technology lead person, I trained the staff and implemented the computing curriculum introduced by the Department of Education (UK) in 2014.
Prior to being an assistant head, I worked for many years at St Luke’s CE Primary School (London, UK) as a class teacher and member of the senior management team, leading areas such Information Communication Technology (ICT), modern foreign languages and science. As a result of my leadership, the school achieved awards such as the Primary Science Quality Mark (Silver) and the Sustrans School Mark Accreditation (Bronze).
For nearly three years, I was a specialist leader of education (SLE) in Science and ICT at St Marylebone Teaching School (London, UK). My role was to develop leadership capacity of subject leaders in other schools so they could have the skills to lead their own teams and improve practice in their own schools. This included one-to-one or group support and involved a variety of activities, such as data analysis, coaching, facilitating and training, joint action planning.
